how it works

How MealFind works

  1. 1Swipe your week

Swipe through dinners picked for your tastes, your macros and your budget. Keep the ones you like and they drop straight into the week — breakfast, lunch and dinner, day by day.

  2. 2Price the whole meal

Not one product at a time — the entire recipe, totalled at each supermarket, so you can see at a glance which shop is cheapest for what you are actually cooking.

  3. 3Shop once, waste nothing

One list, sorted by recipe or grouped by ingredient type, with the exact quantities your plan needs. Tick items off as you go.

discover

A recipe box that knows your budget.

Browse a personalised feed, search the library, or filter by cost, protein, fibre, cook time or ingredient count. Every recipe is checked by a professional chef before it reaches you — for technique, for realistic timings, and for allergens.

no funny business

Two numbers, and both of them true.

Your recipe needs 50g of butter. The shop sells it in 250g blocks. So what did the recipe cost? There are two honest answers, and MealFind shows you both.

  • Basket cost

What you actually hand over at the till — whole packs, real prices, no pretending you can buy 50g of butter.

  • Per-recipe cost

The share of each pack the recipe really uses, so you can compare one dinner against another without the maths.

Prices refresh daily and every comparison carries the time it was last checked. Spot one that looks wrong and you can report it in a tap.

in the app

Three apps’ worth, in one.

Recipe discovery, nutrition tracking and supermarket prices have always lived in separate apps that never talk to each other. That is the whole reason MealFind exists.

  • AI Sous Chef

Stuck mid-recipe? Ask. It explains a technique, rescues a split sauce, or talks a nervous beginner through a step — like a calm colleague, not a chatbot.

  • Nutrition that adds up

Protein, fibre, carbs and calories on every recipe, tracked across the week — calculated from ingredient data, not guessed.

  • Less in the bin

Your week is sequenced so the ingredients that spoil first get cooked first, and the list only buys what the plan actually needs.

  • Progress worth watching

Cooking streaks, nutrition trends, money saved, and a map of the cuisines you have worked your way through.

our story

Made by students, for healthy living.

Two students, one of them a chef, who got tired of juggling a recipe site, a macro tracker and three supermarket tabs just to answer one question: what should I cook this week that I can actually afford?

  • Student built

Designed and maintained by people who lived the problem: cooking well on a loan that ran out in week six.

  • Chef reviewed

One of us cooked professionally for years. Every recipe is checked against that standard before anyone sees it.

  • Health focused

Every recipe carries real macros and portion sizes, so eating cheaply never has to mean eating badly.

  • Free to use

The core app costs nothing. The people who most need help with a food budget should not have to pay for it.

19.2%

food price inflation, at its peak

Shopping never quite went back to normal, and eating well got quietly harder. That is the problem we started with.

ONS, food and non-alcoholic beverages, year to March 2023.
